Are You READY to Buy?
Do you know what you are able to afford?
Another words, will this be an all cash transaction or will you need a loan?
If you need a loan, check with a bank or mortgage company.
They will be glad to pre qualify you. But, remember a pre qualification letter
is not the same as a commitment letter.
Pre qualification states that the bank or mortgage company is willing to
consider you as their client,
a commitment letter is stating you actually got the loan.
Be prepared to let your Realtor know an approximate price range. Or be prepared
for him or her to say,
"I have exactly what you are looking for and the listing price is $850,000."
Do you know what you are looking for?
A ranch style, two story, victorian?,
How many bedrooms, baths, close to hospital, schools, shopping ?
If it is a victorian, do you need a bedroom or a room that can be turned
into a bedroom for someone who may be handicapped.
Answers to some of these questions and others will help to cut
down on the amount of time it takes for the Realtor to find you that perfect
house
and get you to closing/settlement sooner as well as into your new home.
